We are well satisfied eith the Oven. Shipping was prompt. There are two issues that we have. The oven does not sit level and the right front must be shimmed to stop the tilt. it is not severe but is annoying. We wish that the crumb tray were accessable from the front rather than the rear. Overall we are well pleased.

So far we are very happy with this toaster oven. The controls are easy to use, the bagels and toast come out perfect and never burned. The outside of the toaster doesn't get too hot except you have to be careful when grabbing the handle. The nearby metal on the door does get hot. Otherwise I would've given it five stars. It looks great on the counter too. We've also used it to bake and that was fine; haven't broiled with it yet. It was really hard to find something with all the desired features and wasn't a Black and Decker. We had bad luck with that brand. So far so good. Would purchase again and recommend.

We love this new toaster oven. We purchased this to replace a more expensive KRUPS unit that only lasted three years. The Cuisinart toasts very evenly and does not sweat like the KRUPS did. This is also a smaller unit so it looks much nicer. A great purchase!

I bought this for the wife and myself as a Christmas present. After lots of research, review reading, and even asking friends and family who own a toaster oven, I settled on this one. It really does a nice job, and in many cases saves heating up the full size oven for something small. It holds pizza's, toast, and can cook anything you can cook in a full size oven. It heats super fast also. Cold to 450 degrees in about 4-5 minutes. Beat that in your full size oven.



Overall, we are super pleased and would buy again!

 "Nonstick coating is toxic" 2010-02-06

I am trying to find a good toaster oven which does not contain a toxic nonstick coating (ie, containing PTFE/PFOA) similar to Teflon (a brand name). I thought Cuisinart was it, because I know they use Resilience and Ceramica, both water-based environmentally-friendly coatings, on some of their pots and pans. However, after I purchased this toaster oven, I called to double check, and it turns out that the "good" nonstick coatings have not made it to any of the toaster ovens yet, and that they do indeed use a coating containing the toxic PTFE/PFOA. I was assured that they are planning to change over in the future, but have not done so yet. I am very disappointed that a company with such a great reputation would be using harmful materials. (For those who don't know, PTFE/PFOA releases toxins when heated. In studies, the fumes have killed birds and caused cancer in rats.) By the way, it didn't take just a simple phone call to get my question answered. It took a full week during which I spoke with 2 people and the supervisor in the tech department and my question was referred to headquarters. They tried very hard to give me the runaround, claiming ignorance, rather than tell the truth because they know this coating is unpopular now. I will be returning this toaster oven unpacked.

No complaints about this bowl. The small size is fine for our needs but we don't prepare large or fancy meals very often. I bought a replacement bowl for my DLC-1SS because the bowl became really dingy and filthy-looking after using it to grind some allspice. The texture of the spice acted like sandpaper and scarred the inside surface and it looks dirty all of the time.

Product functions well. But that's it. We had 2 of the same units. We returned the first one because of problems with the door hinges. In reading other reviews, this is a common problem. We received another one from Cuisinart and we now have the same problem. Both were less then a year old. This model also doesn't show it's age well. In a short time, it's starts looking old - this despite every attempt to keep in clean and looking new. Bottom line - stay away from this item.

I hate to be the I-told-you-so person in my family, but I didn't want to get a toaster oven. I like my counters clear and even the smallest toaster oven is a space hog, and this one isn't small. But my husband for some reason really wanted to get rid of our classic 2-slice toaster and get this oven so I relented. Although I miss my counter space, I actually came to appreciate being able to use our full size oven less, and I roasted a lot of vegetables and found it easy and convenient for that purpose. BUT, we've had it about 2 years and now I've just noticed that the interior black paint has peeled off, presumably falling into our food. I have 2 kids under 4 and I'm really upset about this. I spoke to customer service and after I described the problem and the fact that I was worried about harm to my kids, he asked, "Does the oven work?" What the! If that's the standard they are using, then this company stands for NOTHING. Also, annoying but not the end of the world is that the door of the oven, as sooooo many reviewers noted, does not shut. Slamming the door of the toaster oven every time you use it is annoying and wakes up my little ones (their bedroom is closest to the kitchen).

I have had this toaster oven for years and always thought it was great! It is very sharp looking and toasts well. I just realized now that I barely ever used it until the past year. Over the 10 months, my fiance and I have actually put it to good use. The door stopped closing all the way most of the time about a month ago. It is extremely frustrating. The door handle is actually now broken from a recent struggle to close it. I was planning on replacing it with the same exact one thinking that it was from years of use that we were having this problem and my fiance resisted calling it a piece of junk. I decided to check out the reviews and was actually surprised to see the majority of the negative reviews address the same exact thing. I thought I had the problem because I had it for years and then realized that I just started using it less than a year ago. I will not be buying the same one again.

I like to make toast and use the broiler. I've had this model for years now. The door hinge has always been an issue. You have to slam the door to get it to close. So much slamming on a weak plastic handle caused the handle to break. The outside gets pretty hot also. I would not recommend.
